Mr Tall update

Texted him TODAY to wish happy new year and thanked him for meeting me (and driving me to my destination) at the end of December. Thought he might get the hint that he had said nothing, namely regarding his present. Something like: "thanks", "it was really kind of you" OR "I didn't open it" or even "just gave it to charity". He replied to my text and there is no mention of present. He did tend to miss the absolute obvious...
